Police Services Update

The Township of Perth South is currently policed by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP). Staff and Council have been investigating other options, specifically with the Stratford Police Service to determine if they offer the same level of police services at a reduced cost to the Township. The Stratford Police Service and the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have recently attended Council meetings and presented information regarding the policing services they offer. 

To address questions that the public may have in regards to the police services, a survey was conducted and questions asked by the public were answered by the police service(s) that the question(s) was directed to.  A report was prepared and presented to Council which included all questions asked and the police services response.

A Council report to analyze the two police services was also prepared, which includes a costing comparison.
