Job Descriptions:
Assistant Lifeguard |
Position: Assistant Lifeguard (Seasonal)
Department: Recreation Programs Reports to: Head Lifeguard Wage: $17.00 per hour
Position Summary: The primary responsibility of the Assistant Lifeguard is to assist with the effective and safe delivery of swim programs and pool services at the Kirkton-Woodham Swimming Pool. The Assistant Lifeguard shall work under the supervision of the Lifeguard or his/her designate. The Assistant Lifeguard shall maintain a positive attitude and work cooperatively with all other staff, customers, and stakeholders for the successful delivery of Department programs and recreation facilities, for the betterment of the community.
Goal Statement: As a member of the Municipal team, each employee is responsible for serving the citizens of the Township of Perth South by meeting the ratepayers’ needs and expectations, as articulated by Council, by striving to be the best in everything we do through attitude, training and creativity, and for representing the Municipality as a strong, integrated organization dedicated to quality, sustainable and viable services.

Lifeguard & Swim Instructor |
Position: Lifeguard & Swim Instructor (Seasonal) Department: Recreation Programs Reports to: Head Lifeguard Wage: $19.21 - $22.60 per hour
Position Summary: The primary responsibility of the Lifeguard/ Swim Instructor is to assist with the effective and safe delivery of swim programs and pool services at the Kirkton-Woodham Swimming Pool. The Lifeguard/Instructor shall work under the supervision of the Head Lifeguard or his/her designate. The Lifeguard/Swim Instructor shall maintain a positive attitude and work cooperatively with all other staff, customers, and stakeholders for the successful delivery of Department programs and recreation facilities, for the overall betterment of the community.

Head Lifeguard |
Position: Head Lifeguard (Seasonal) Department: Recreation Programs Reports to: Recreation Manager Wage: $22.00 - $25.74 per hour
Position Summary: The primary responsibility of the Head Lifeguard is to lead the aquatic staff and the effective delivery of programs and services in a safe, regulated manner at the Kirkton-Woodham Swimming Pool. The Aquatic Staff shall report to the Head Lifeguard, while the Head Lifeguard shall work under the supervision of the Treasurer, or their designate. The Head Lifeguard shall work in a cooperative and positive manner with all other staff, customers, and stakeholders for the successful delivery of Pool programs and recreation facilities. The Head Lifeguard is the on-duty supervisor whenever working at the Swimming Pool and is responsible for day-to-day operations at the facility. The Head Lifeguard is expected to take the leadership role concerning most attributes of the pool and to understand and maintain the overall goals of the Pool team members and patrons.
