The Township office is open to the public effective May 28, 2021. Staff are in the office and work regular office hours - Monday to Friday 8:30 am till 4:30 pm. Appointments can be arranged if required. Please contact the office for any questions. The Report IT feature on the website is also an option for letting us know about any concerns or feedback. |

Residents are encouraged to make payments using online banking options. Those wanting to make their payments by cheque may also use the Municipal Office drop-box that is located beside the main entrance doors to the Township Office Building. Payments can also be made in person. |

The Building Department in Perth South is open to the public but building applications will continue to be received. Inspections of current projects will continue. Permit Applications - Building Permit applications continue to be accepted electronically. If it is not possible to submit permits electronically please contact Chief Building Official Martin Feeney at 519-271-0619 Ext. 225 or mfeeney@perthsouth.ca Inspections Building Inspections will continue. The Chief Building Official will review each inspection request to determine whether or not it is safe to complete the inspection. Waste, Recycling and Landfill Services |

Waste and Recycling - Bluewater Recycling Association (BRA) continues to operate as an essential service on their regular schedule. However, the public drop off area at the Material Recovery Facility is closed until further notice in order to protect the safety of staff.
Landfill - The Perth South landfill reopened on June 5, 2021 and has returned to its regularly scheduled dates and times. |

Parks and Recreation |

Municipal playgrounds will remain open on a “use at your own risk” basis. Residents are reminded to avoid using playgrounds if they are feeling sick, to wash their hands before and after using playground equipment, and to practice physical distancing while using playgrounds. |

Community Centres are closed indefinitely. |

Animal Control |

The Humane Society of Kitchener-Waterloo and Stratford-Perth centres are closed indefinitely and only essential staff (Animal Control Officers, Animal Care staff, medical staff & reception/dispatch) will be working in our facilities. The public will not have access to the building and when animals/strays are being picked up/reclaimed that will be done in our parking lots.
Essential Services will include:
Animal Control & Pound Services – responding to emergency calls only; this includes vicious/dangerous animals, rabid and injured animals (including wildlife)and at risk animals (dog running at large in a high traffic area – this is the same level of service as identified last week;
Emergency Boarding will be provided to pet owners who have entered into shelters; been hospitalized or incarcerated and have no other care for their pet;
Emergency Medical care including emergency surgeries for Humane Society owned animals and sick and injured animals that have come to us through our Animal Control contracts;
Emergency Surrenders – by appointment only and left up to the discretion of our Animal Care Manager, based on our capacity/available resources;
Intake of Strays – by appointment only if brought in by the public;
Lost & Found/Stray Viewings – initially by phone and then email using videos and/or photos and on site pick up by appointment only;
Cremations – by appointment only
