Downie Recreation & Facilities Advisory Committee
The role of the Downie Recreation & Facilities Advisory Committee is to initiate and provide recommendations, advice and information to the Township Council regarding the operations and maintenance of the various recreational facilities and programs operating in the Downie Ward of the Township of Perth South.
The Committee is specifically responsible for:
- developing, encouraging and promoting recreational programs for all ages in the community, such as (but not limited to) minor baseball and minor soccer;
- coordinating the registration, scheduling, implementation and management of recreational programs and activities;
- initiating and facilitating such working groups as may be necessary to assist in the development and promotion of recreational programs and activities;
- liaising, facilitating and working in co-operation with the Township Staff, service contractors, other recreation committees of Council, local community volunteers, local service groups, and any other organizations interested in the development and implementation of recreational programs and activities.
