The Building and By-law Enforcement Division`s function is to ensure public health and safety through the enforcement of provisions under the Building Code Act and Ontario Building Code.
The use of Building Permits allows municipalities to regulate the types of construction in the community and ensure that proper building standards are met. The enforcement of building codes serves to protect the health, safety and welfare of the public. The By-law Enforcement function is to ensure public health and safety through the enforcement of several Municipal By-laws. By-laws including Zoning, Property Standards, Discharge of Firearms, Fencing, Burning, Waste Management, Parking, and Noise are enforced by this department. |
